If you are asking yourself why aren't your great blog pages indexed in google yet, do not worry, you are not alone, there's plenty doing just that actually! When blogging, you probably haven't noticed that Google hasn't indexed your latest blog post. But for a few bloggers, it's a big deal and they wonder, "Why aren't my blog pages indexed in Google yet?" To find out, visit Google's index checker and check the status of your page. Google indexes all pages it crawls and stores in its cache. This cached version of your page is what your search results will show up. Explained You might have noticed that your blog pages aren't indexed in the Google index yet. This happens to most newbie bloggers who don't pay much attention to their blog. Some of them might wonder why Google didn't index their page. Before you get worried, you can check if your blog page is in the Google index by using this handy tool. In a nutshell, Google's index is a list of every page it crawls and stores in its cache. When people search for a specific keyword, they see the cached version of your page. If you have just published a new blog post, you can use the Google Search Console to check whether it is in the index or not. However, you may find that the page is not yet indexed because you have not linked to it from other relevant pages. Since Google considers content without any inbound links to be unimportant, it will stop crawling those pages. The best way to solve this problem is to create some links from relevant pages. Tracking script To track blog pages not yet indexed in Google, you must add a tracking script to your site. The tracking script is a small JavaScript snippet that sends a unique ID to Google Analytics servers every time a visitor visits your website. However, if your blog is on GitHub, you do not need to install Google Analytics. GitHub has page view analytics that you can use to measure traffic to your site. Duplicate content If you're wondering why your blog pages aren't indexed in Google yet, it might be due to duplicate content. There are many different reasons why duplicate content is a problem. Many CMSs do not handle it well by default, but it can still affect your website. Google prioritizes unique content on its SERPs. Duplicate content can also lead to other problems, such as having multiple URLs for the same page. In addition to being a hassle for your readers, duplicate content on blog pages can also impact your website's speed. Duplicate content can have negative effects on your organic search visibility and website speed. Google reveals that 25% to 30% of content on the web is duplicated. This is a huge issue for SEO and could make your blog pages unindexed. Often, the solution is to consolidate your duplicate content. By placing existing pages under a single URL, you can consolidate all of the ranking signals for that URL towards a single page. This method is also good if your URLs have external links. This will make it easier for Google to index your blog pages and improve search results. If you're not comfortable doing this, use a tool to find duplicate content on your site. A good quality article can be duplicated on multiple websites. A website can easily duplicate itself if you use a search function, a 200 status code, or informational content. However, duplicate content can be a problem because it can reduce the value of your site to readers. Using spun content is a common practice, but it doesn't work very well with Google these days. Slow indexing rate If your blog is not being indexed properly, the cause could be several things. The site must have a properly interlinked structure, be updated frequently, and have backlinks. All these factors affect the indexing rate of your blog pages. Your site structure may be the culprit behind slow indexing, but you can still increase the speed of indexing your blog pages. Check your blog's indexing rate regularly. Google bots can take time to index a page. This process has many steps and it's important to make your blog visible to Googlebot. You can also use search engine optimization principles to unlock the door to your website. The delay in indexing can be caused by the web spiders' inability to gain entry. Make sure to keep an eye on your indexing statistics to determine why your pages are not being indexed. Google does not index pages that have a large amount of spam comments and are of low quality. If this is the case, your page may take a long time to get indexed by Google. In such a case, you should consider deleting your content or incorporating it into your internal linking structure. In addition, you should avoid using blackhat SEO techniques such as keyword stuffing, buying backlinks, or participating in link schemes. If your blog is new, you may be experiencing a difficulty getting indexed by Google as Google does not crawl your website as often. Therefore, Google may have to manually notify your site. While most bloggers do not notice that their post isn't indexed by Google, some of them may have wondered, "Why aren't my blog pages indexed by Google?". To check if your page has been indexed by Google, you need to use the Google index checker. This tool displays a list of all pages Google has crawled and cached. Search results are based on the cached version of a page, which may be several months old. Add Sitemaps to Your Website To increase your chances of getting indexed by Google, you must add sitemaps to your website. These are structured files that describe your site and help Google crawl it efficiently. They should also change with your website's updates. Here are some useful tips to make your sitemaps effective. You should consider adding XML sitemaps and Canonical URLs to your website. The more comprehensive and detailed they are, the more likely Google will be to index your pages. XML sitemaps First, make sure your sitemap contains relevant pages, or you'll end up with a useless one. Google likes to see high-quality content on the first page of search results, so don't include anything that doesn't matter. If you have a site that's full of useless content, make sure your XML sitemap has no hidden pages. You also have to avoid adding URLs that don't make sense or don't have enough content. Another thing to keep in mind when using XML sitemaps to get ranked by Google is that they're going to get huge! If you have a website with over 50,000 URLs, you may want to break up into separate XML sitemaps and submit one that contains only those. Most sites that have thousands of pages will be fine with just one sitemap. However, if you have a very large website, you may want to create more than one sitemap to ensure that Google will index all of the pages of your site. Having too many URLs in one XML sitemap will slow down indexing, so you should consider breaking your sitemap up into smaller versions. Ideally, the XML sitemaps should be under fifty megabytes. If your site has more than 50,000 posts, you'll need two XML sitemaps. A good way to ensure your sitemaps load quickly is to use a plugin like Yoast SEO (if you have WordPress Website of course). Canonical URLs A sitemap is a list of links that points to each of your web pages. Google will index these links and use them to determine your rankings. Google will also include canonical URLs in their index, so make sure you include them in your sitemap. Sitemaps are XML documents that tell Google what pages and elements are on your website. They should prioritize dynamic pages and not static pages. You can include as many as 1,000 images. Images on your sitemap do not need to be from the same domain as your website. They can also be hosted on a CDN. Just be sure to verify the CDN in Google's Search Console so that it will be visible on your website. Sitemaps can also be used to inform Google of alternate language versions of a URL. They should also contain the hreflang tag to let Google know that the URLs are translated into other languages. Sitemaps must also contain UTF-8 encoding and have escaped URLs. Once your sitemap is submitted, the results may take some time to show up in SERPs. RSS feeds You may be wondering how to put RSS feeds on sitemaps to get index by Google. RSS feeds do not normally show up in search results, but you can easily make your feed visible to Google by placing it on your sitemap. If you have multiple RSS feeds, you can also create separate RSS feeds for each one. This method has many benefits, including the fastest indexing. In conclusion One of the most important aspects of getting indexed by Google is to create a sitemap. This file identifies the URLs on your site. Search engines use a sitemap file to understand how your website is structured. Without a sitemap, pages may not have enough internal links and get low quality ranking. They may even be refused display by search engines. So, you should always make an effort to include sitemaps on your website. While sitemaps are great for sites with few updates, they may not be effective for sites with thousands of posts a day. By implementing RSS on your sitemaps, you will help Google discover your new content faster. However, it will not help you get higher rankings for your existing content. You should also take into account the bounce rate when using RSS on sitemaps. However, if you are trying to increase traffic and improve visitor experience, RSS is an ideal choice for you.
