It's fantastic that you're trying to have a presence on as many different social media platforms as possible, hence the concept of "move from niche to niche" is something that, truly, you should consider applying to your marketing strategy. Next, you need to give some thought to how you may become a part of multiple communities on various social media channels so that as many people as possible will have the opportunity to view your content. For instance, if you have a blog devoted to the process of building muscle, you shouldn't just post in groups devoted to the process of building muscle. You might just as well post in communities devoted to fashion or to martial arts; members of these two subcultures could be interested in the topic at hand, particularly if you can find a way to make it relevant to their interests. A post with a novel subject, such as "How to Build Muscle for Grappling," is an excellent choice for drawing visitors from a wide variety of backgrounds to your website. Another reason why The Art of Manliness is such a successful brand is because it caters to a wide variety of subcultures under a single umbrella, producing a product that fulfills a specific and well-defined function while still being appealing to numerous customers. Don't Make the Mistake of Trying to Please Everyone Having said that, it is not a good idea to aim to please everyone all the time. It is said that if you strive to satisfy everyone, you will end up pleasing no one. The saying has been around for a very long time and has not changed. And that is certainly the case in this particular predicament. We have spent a considerable amount of time discussing the significance of establishing a crystal clear and well-defined brand with a well-defined objective. Be aware of your mission and of the audience you seek to serve. And avoid watering down the message in an effort to make it more universally appealing. Why? Because doing so leads you to find yourself reading articles with titles such as "7 Ab Exercises You Can Do at Home!" It lacks originality, it doesn't differentiate itself from the crowd, and it puts you in direct competition with the entire field. Brain Pickings is an excellent illustration of this point. Maria Popova is the person behind the Brain Pickings blog, which focuses on providing extremely detailed and high-level content on a variety of topics related to the brain, including literature, philosophy, politics, art, and more. No mass appeal? No problem! On the website, one of the posts is titled "Oliver Sacks on Death, Destiny, and the Redemptive Radiance of a Life Fully Lived." This is an example of the type of content that can be found on the website. That is most certainly not a piece of content that has what is known as "mass appeal." That being said, it's actually a good thing because it is precisely the reason why the website has been so successful. This is a one-of-a-kind website that, for certain types of readers, will provide exactly the kind of content that those readers enjoy, which they will not be able to locate anyplace else. It is immediately distinguishable, it is immediately obvious that it is distinct, and all things considered, it is a really powerful brand. You don't want to try to get everyone to visit your website and blog anyhow, which means you don't want to try to get everyone to sign up for your social media. This is something else that you should take into consideration in this situation. And as you are probably aware, this indicates that you need focused leads. If you attract the wrong kind of customer to your website, it is quite unlikely that you will be able to make a sale to that customer. As a result, this endeavor will be a waste of time for everyone involved. If you're trying to develop a community, then the individuals who aren't actually fans of the kind of stuff you're putting out probably won't have as much to give as the ones who are fans of it. Instead, you should center your efforts on developing something truly original and zeroing in on a certain identity. You shouldn't be scared to discourage some readers from continuing to read your blog because it's likely that they weren't a good fit to begin with.
