When you start a new Drupal website you have just a few modules installed so looking for the right one is not going to take a long time, however, as you progress in your developing content for the website, add more services and more interactivity, become more social and link Facebook/Twitter/ LinkedIn widgets and sharing buttons, add slideshows, ecommerce and who knows what else…..then, your modules are all over the place.
The basic Drupal view is…just…”basic” so it does not include a search function and the way it categorizes the modules might be considered by many….”a bit confusing”.
Thankfully the good news are that there is actually an amazing module called “Filter”. And …you have guessed right, it ads a search filter to your modules view so that you don’t have to scroll to a long list of installed modules anymore.
Another very cool feature of the Filter module is that it allows to easily toggle on or off each module shown on a list on the main pane. On the top of the main page you will notice the addition of checkboxes to select between enabled, disabled, required and unavailable. This last option makes the search process even faster by excluding from the query modules you are not interested in indexing.
On the left panel you will have tabs with the categories for ease on scouting. This is way more intuitive than the standard Drupal view where the categories are blocks of stacks of modules built one on top of the other on the main body of the module view.

Believe me, after you try once you will never go back and work without it, indeed, this is the first module to have in mind in every Drupal fresh installation.
Have you tried it yet? Do you have a different experience? let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear your opinion.
